BeoCenter 6-23 announced

1st September 2006

Bang & Olufsen have announced the BeoCenter 6-23, a replacement for BeoVision 6-22. The new model features a number of significant improvements, and is likely to cost only marginally more than the one it replaces.

The first improvement is the larger screen – 23″ compared with 22″, although the resolution of the panel is identical.

The change of name from BeoVision to BeoCenter is also significant because in B&O terms, “BeoCenter” signifies an integrated system with more than one source. So in addition to a TV tuner, BeoCenter 6-23 features an FM radio as standard. Alternatively, an optional DAB radio can be ordered in place of the FM item.

Visually, BeoCenter 6-23 is very similar to the model it replaces. The most significant change is that the loudspeaker grille is now made from perforated aluminium instead of cloth, which is in keeping with the current B&O’s style. The colour of the grille now matches the rear screen surround, and a new colour – yellow – is available.

There is no announcement yet about how the larger BeoVision 6-26 will be updated, but it is reasonable to expect this to receive a similar makeover in the coming months.
